Brief Profile

Dr. Raghavendra did his MD in Community Medicine from Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada. He works in the areas of Nutrition Epidemiology, Nutritional Surveillance, and field epidemiology. He has involved in various scientific projects that included Establishment of Nutrition Surveillance Systems, Development of Evidence based Food Models for Children in Chhattisgarh, Outbreak investigations in Muzaffarpur & Eluru, Covid Serosurveillance, Effectiveness of Front of Pack Nutrition Labels, Development of intervention models for prevention of infantile Beri-beri in Assam, etc. He is currently working on longterm outcomes of interventions at Nutritional Rehabilitation Centres and on efficacy of probiotic curd supplementation in children. He contributed 2 chapters in the recently released Nutritional Requirements for Indians 2020. He is a member of IPHA, IAPSM, Epidemiology Foundation of India and has rendered services as a member of Electronic Working Group of the Codex Committee India to work on Front of Pack Nutrition Labelling, FSSAI’s Network for Scientific Co-operation for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (NetSCoFAN), NCDC’s committee working on Mitigation of Nutritional issues of Climate Change and ICMR-NIN Institutional Ethics Committee. He is on the Executive Committee board of Nutrition Society of India.
